What is Adagio Excel Direct? Why do I need this feature?

Adagio Accounting by Softrak is well-designed and definitely helps business people run their organization well. I want to talk about features that really make this product rock – Exporting data from your ERP/Accounting System to Excel – in one click!

Admit it – if you are running a business, you use Excel. And, you probably use it often. My guess is that you often re-enter your accounting data in Excel for further analysis or reporting.

So, check this out: Here is a typical Adagio screen – a listing of Customers, with Balances Outstanding. (We will tell you another time how to customize your screens to display meaningful data such as this.)

Notice the Excel button on the right, just below all the buttons. Adagio calls this button: Excel Direct and it appears all over the place in Adagio.

So, how does it work? Really, it is exceptionally simple. Click the button once – That’s it! Here is what happens, instantly.

Notes:

• All the records are included
• The rows are formatted
• The columns are filtered
• All column-totals are calculated properly (not illustrated), displaying the correct totals
• The export takes seconds, and can be generated anytime!

The Excel Direct Export is available everywhere in Adagio – export G/L Chart of Accounts &values, Vendors, Customers, Items, Jobs, Transactions… You get the idea.

We have found that this makes for very powerful and quick ad-hoc reporting.
